The oil extracted from peanuts is rich in nutrients and vitamins, owing to the legume's high antioxidant content and abundance of vitamin E. This makes it an excellent choice for promoting cellular rejuvenation, enhancing physical and mental health, and aiding in overall body balance while also playing a role in detoxifying harmful molecules to help prevent conditions like Alzheimer's disease. Nutritionist Juliana Gimenez Casagrande highlights the widespread popularity of peanuts as a snack and underscores their significant nutritional benefits for humans.

"Peanuts are categorized under a widely popular taste profile," explains Casagrande. "They are commonly enjoyed as snacks, particularly suitable for various social gatherings and events." She emphasizes the importance of considering the broader relationship with food beyond just its vitamin and mineral content.

One of the significant benefits of peanuts, according to food experts, lies in their composition of Omega-6 fatty acids and other polyunsaturated fats. These fats contribute positively to immune system function, cardiovascular health, and even aesthetic aspects of the body. With the rising cost of olive oil, peanut oil serves as a practical alternative in Brazilian cuisine, offering not only a flavorful snack but also a versatile frying option.

Peanuts hold a prominent place in Brazilian agriculture, with an annual production reaching around 747 thousand tons. The Brazilian Association of the Chocolate, Peanut, and Candy Industry (Abicab) reports that approximately 90% of this production originates from the State of São Paulo. From this total, producers extract about 87 thousand tons of oil, with 60% being exported primarily to China. As a result, peanut oil is gaining popularity domestically in Brazil, offering consumers a locally sourced and nutritious alternative.
