The prices of soybeans showed losses on Wednesday morning at the Chicago Board of Trade. Around 8:00 a.m. Brasília time, quotations were down between 2.00 and 3.00 points, with May futures trading at $12.32 and July at $12.44 per bushel.
According to information from the international news agency Reuters, soybeans and corn extended losses for a second consecutive session as investors assessed the impact of severe weather in some of the main production areas. According to analysis released by the Barchart website, "U.S. soybean production is expected to be accounted for at 4,449 bbu this Friday in the WASDE, showing the initial balance 24/25. The USDA normally sticks with the March intentions number for planted area, as most in the trade expect them to adopt the 52 bpa trendline yield that was used at the February Outlook Forum."
The July contract fell 2.25 points, trading at $12.44 per bushel, August was down 3.75 points, valued at $12.41, and the September expiration had a decline of 5.25, quoted at $12.24 per bushel.
