Soybean Harvest in Rondônia: 20% Reduction in Productivity

soybean

The soybean harvest is nearing completion in Rondônia, with a 20% reduction in productivity, reveals an expert. According to analyses conducted by researcher from Embrapa and member of the Aprosoja of the State, Vicente Godinho, over 90% of the soybean harvest has already been completed in the state. He notes that the early stages of the season were marked by a scarcity of rainfall, affecting the initial planting period, followed by excess rainfall towards the end, leading to a significant incidence of scorched grains. These factors resulted in approximately a 20% reduction in soybean productivity this season.

Regarding second-crop corn, Godinho points to a decrease of about 35% in cultivated area. This is due to planting delays and the reluctance of many producers to fully invest in seeding, opting to plant part of the cereal outside the ideal window. As a result, some areas designated for corn cultivation were replaced with pastures or rice, as explained by the researcher.
