In March, Mato Grosso processed 1.15 million tons of soybeans. The volume represents a 10.31% increase compared to February and a 10.97% rise from the same period last year, setting a new record for the month.

According to data from the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), in the first quarter of the year, 3.13 million tons of oilseeds were crushed in the state, an increase of 11.21% compared to the accumulated total from January to March 2023.

"This scenario is linked to the expansion of the static capacity of the industries and the opening of new processing plants," explains the Institute. Another contributing factor is the increased demand for by-products, which has driven the pace in industries in 2024, especially soybean meal destined for exports and oil for domestic consumption.

Furthermore, according to Imea, despite the record in grain processing, when analyzing the gross margin of the industries, the indicator showed a decrease of 36.76% compared to the previous month, estimated at R$ 304.88 per ton.
