National Science Day: Apta Demonstrates Collaborative Knowledge Building in Agricultural Research

national science day

Science is no longer a solitary endeavor; it thrives on collaboration among many skilled professionals. At the São Paulo Agency for Agribusiness Technology (Apta), teamwork drives the success of its seven research institutions. These institutions are leaders in agriculture, boosting productivity, quality, and sustainability. Apta, affiliated with the São Paulo State Department of Agriculture and Supply, relies on a diverse team of scientific researchers, technical assistants, and support staff to manage over a thousand research projects. Postgraduate students and interns also play crucial roles in generating new ideas and maintaining the momentum of scientific research.

Celebrated on July 8th, National Science Day honors Brazilian Scientific Researchers. These experts, with their technical expertise and analytical skills, guide research projects and shape the scientific direction of their units and laboratories. As Ricardo Harakava from the Biological Institute (IB-Apta) points out, researchers must stay attuned to societal changes to effectively address emerging challenges, especially in agriculture where issues like climate change and the demand for sustainable food are pressing.

Fábio Sussel from the Fisheries Institute (IP-Apta) highlights the evolving role of researchers, who must now interact with industry demands to ensure their work benefits society. This collaborative, multidisciplinary approach is essential for addressing complex agricultural challenges, integrating modern technologies, and enhancing overall productivity.
