The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) published Ordinance No. 303 on Friday (19th), aligning the planting dates of the Agricultural Zoning for Climate Risk (ZARC) for soybean cultivation in the 2024/2025 season.

This applies to the states of Rio de Janeiro, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Maranhão, Piauí, Acre, Pará, Rondônia, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and the Federal District.

This adaptation aims to synchronize the periods indicated in the ZARC with the sanitary void periods and the national soybean sowing calendar established by SDA/MAPA Ordinance No. 1,111 of May 13, 2024.

The sowing calendar considers phytosanitary parameters as part of the strategy for managing Asian Soybean Rust. Meanwhile, the ZARC indicates the best planting times to minimize the chances of losses due to climatic adversities. Farmers benefiting from the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) or the Rural Insurance Subsidy Program (PSR) must adhere to both the sowing dates set by the SDA for their state and the ZARC guidelines for their municipality to be eligible for these risk management programs.
