Brazilian exports to the United States subject to surcharges registered a 25.7% fall 📉 in September 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, a percentage higher than the total average decline of 20.3%. In contrast, products exempt from surcharges saw a 12.3% increase 📈 in exported value, a result mainly influenced by the sales of petroleum and its derivatives.
The data is from the Brazil-US Trade Monitor, prepared by the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil (Amcham) and recently released.
According to Amcham, September marked the sharpest decline in bilateral trade so far.
