The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) announced another sale of soybean meal on Friday, July 19th, this time totaling 105,000 tons. The volume is entirely from the 2024/25 harvest and destined for "undisclosed" locations.
Yesterday, the USDA had already reported a sale of 150,000 tons of the derivative, also to "unknown" destinations.
The soybean meal market is a crucial segment of the global agricultural economy, driven by its extensive use as a high-protein feed ingredient for livestock. Major producers of soybean meal include the United States, Brazil, and Argentina, with significant consumption in regions with large livestock and poultry industries, such as China, the European Union, and Southeast Asia.
