Soybean prices have continued to rise in the domestic market, with June marking the highest average prices of the year. Adjusted for inflation (IGP-DI from May), the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator for Paranaguá recorded R$ 138.92 per sack, and the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for Paraná reached R$ 133.98 per 60 kg sack, reflecting respective increases of 2.1% and 2.4% compared to May 2024.
Researchers from Cepea attribute this surge to robust international demand for Brazilian soybeans and their rising value on the global market. Additionally, some soybean farmers are reluctant to sell large quantities, anticipating that the favorable exchange rate will continue to boost exports and, consequently, domestic prices.
In the first half of the year, soybean shipments totaled 64.13 million tons, setting a new record for the period and surpassing last year's volume by 2.2%.
