More than 146 thousand tons moved in the export corridor on two ships bound for China and Spain
In just 24 hours, over 146 thousand tons of soybeans were handled in the East Export Corridor of the Port of Paranaguá. The record achieved between April 20th and 21st represents a 5% increase compared to the previous one, recorded between August 29th and 30th, 2019 (138,988.98 tons).
"Three berths handled over 146 thousand tons of soybeans and soybean meal bound for China and Spain. The excellent handling operation of three ships enabled yet another historical record for the Ports of Paraná. These numbers are the result of investments in port management of the Paraná ports," emphasized Luiz Fernando Garcia, CEO of Portos do Paraná.
The public company has been a four-time champion in the best port management in Brazil, according to the federal government. The ports of Paranaguá and Antonina achieved the highest score in the Port Authorities Management Index (IGAP) in the main category among Brazilian public ports. "The total handling also brought significant results for the companies involved. Eight terminals loaded more than a thousand tons/hour per equipment. It's an impressive number achieved due to annual maintenance and port logistics intelligence," emphasized the CEO.
