After a sharp downturn, Brazilian peanut exports bounced back and reached a historic record in 2025.
According to the Institute of Agricultural Economics (IEA-Apta) of the São Paulo State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply, sales from January to August alone exceeded 180,000 tonnes and generated US$ 222 million, 26% more than in the same period of 2024.
All of the exported peanuts came from São Paulo. The main destinations were Russia (22%), China (21%), Algeria (11%) and the Netherlands (7%), the main gateway to the European Union.
The sharp increase in exports to China, about 35,000 tonnes in a short period, caught the attention of the industry. A milestone that highlights the strength of Brazilian agribusiness and the role of São Paulo peanuts in the international market.
