This week marked the inaugural bulk shipment of VHP sugar (raw sugar) in the history of the São Sebastião Port, situated on São Paulo's north coast, as reported by the port authority. A total of 22 thousand tons of the product were exported via the Aurélia vessel.

The entire operation was orchestrated by Seaforte, the port operator aliated with the FTSpar group based in Paraná. The FTSpar group's CEO, Valdécio Bombonatto, described it as an unprecedented undertaking at São Sebastião Port, broadening the array of operational and logistical choices for clients. He emphasized that this route holds potential for the import and export of solid bulk goods of both vegetable and mineral origin.

Closing 2023 with a 12% surge in cargo movement compared to 2022, the Port of São Sebastião also experienced a remarkable 51% growth in revenue, equivalent to R$43.5 million.

Anticipating an upward trend in activity for 2024, there are also investment projections aimed at enhancing productivity at the Port of São Sebastião.

Rafael Moura, FTSpar's Director of Logistics Integration, underscored the "unique" features of the port complex's access channel, boasting deep and protected waters, along with two entrances (south and north bars) that facilitate maneuvers for diverse ship profiles.

He expressed confidence in the evolving potential of the Port of São Sebastião, which continues to modernize, presenting the market with an outstanding logistical choice.
